SOUTH PADRE ISLAND AREA ATTRACTIONS
The Point Isabel Light House Port Isabel Lighthouse is located on Highway 100 in Port Isabel, TX one block from the Queen Isabella Causeway. The lighthouse is usually open every day of the week. Hours may vary according to season. There is an admission fee of $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. The Whaling Wall Wyland's Whaling Wall #53 "Orcas off the Gulf of Mexico" mural spans three walls of the convention center on the Island of South Padre. Spanning 153 feet in length and 23 feet in height, it took over 111 gallons of paint, 100 volunteers, and nearly four days to complete. The mural was dedicated on March 14th, 1994. Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark From the Queen Isabella Causeway head south (turn right from bridge) and go about ¾ of a mile. The park entrance will be on the left side, across from Sea Ranch, and one block before the Isla Blanca Park entrance. Dolphin Research and Sea Life Nature Center Discover the spectacular diversity of nature which South Padre Island has to offer. Sea Turtle, Inc. Sea Turtle, Inc. - a not-for-profit organization - assists the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service with patrolling South Texas Beaches for Sea Turtle nests. |
