There is a good selection of South Padre Island hotels to accommodate everything from family vacations, conventions, business meetings to spring breakers and special events. South Padre Island Hotels The actual size of the town of South Padre Island is only 1.81 Square miles, yet it has 33 hotels on it; not to mention the many condominium complexes. There are several of the affordable well known places like Comfort Suites, Econolodge, Best Western, Days Inn, Motel 6 for those who don't need to be right on the beach. If you do want beachfront accommodations with reasonable rates I suggest Wanna Wanna or the Surf Motel. The most popular resort type hotels are the Peninsula Island Resort and Spa , Radisson and the Sheraton, all which offer direct beach access, onsite restaurants and bars as well as all the amenities one would expect from a first class hotel. Location of Hotels on the Island 
The most desired hotels offer ocean views and direct beach access. There are only thirteen hotels that are actually on the beach. These are the Sheraton, Radisson, Wanna Wanna, Padre South Resort, La Copa Inn, La Quinta Inn, Peninsula Island Resort and Spa, Royale Beach And Tennis Resort, Mirimar, Surf Motel, Bahi Mar and the Tiki. Since the island is less than a half mile wide you are never very far from any of the public beach accesses, so some of the "inner island" establishments can offer great value to a vacation on a more modest budget. Besides, there is whole lot more to do here than just enjoying the beach, try some fishing or boating, parasailing, kiteboard on the flats, or take a side trip to Mexico.
